The We Were Here Tomorrow release date was October 20, 2026. The full game is available on Windows PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay was included at launch, so your co-op partner can use a different supported platform.
As of October 21, 2026, the game has already launched. Older announcements describing an upcoming October release or asking you to wishlist it refer to the period before launch. You can now plan a session around the released game rather than a countdown.
Platforms available at release
| Platform | Release date | Version to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | October 20, 2026 | We Were Here Tomorrow on Steam |
| PlayStation 5 | October 20, 2026 | The PS5 game |
| Xbox Series X|S | October 20, 2026 | The Xbox Series X|S game |
These are the confirmed release platforms. A series page mentioning other We Were Here games on another console does not establish a Tomorrow release there. Match the complete game title and the platform shown on its product page before buying.
You do not need both players to choose the same platform. Crossplay connects the supported PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions. Choosing a platform is therefore mainly a question of which compatible system each person can use, alongside that platform's online-play requirements.
The full release and the earlier demo are different
A Steam demo was announced on April 9, 2026 as a limited experience available for one week. It introduced the Norček setting through three cooperative puzzles. That announcement belongs to the game's preview period; April 9 is not the full game's release date.
Likewise, demo playthroughs can show an earlier sample without covering the released adventure. If you are checking a video or guide to decide whether the full game is available, first establish whether it covers the demo or the October release. A video labelled as a complete demo cannot establish the length or full contents of the final game.
The October 20 release is the complete commercial game. It takes the two Explorers into Norček Industries, where they receive assignments and work together with distinct tools and information. The change in setting does not change the central requirement to communicate with another player.

The full release arrived on all three supported platforms on October 20, 2026.
Prepare both players before your first session
Tomorrow is a two-player online cooperative game. It is not a single-player release with an optional partner, and it does not offer local split-screen play. Arrange a second player and two supported systems before setting aside an evening.
On PC, both players need an internet connection and a working PC-compatible microphone. On PS5, online play requires PlayStation Plus. On Xbox consoles, the store lists an online multiplayer subscription requirement. Check those access requirements separately from the game purchase: having the software installed does not replace a console's online-play requirement.
A useful release-day setup check is:
- Confirm that both players are selecting We Were Here Tomorrow, rather than another series entry or an older demo.
- Confirm that each person's device is one of the supported systems.
- Arrange game access for both players and check any required console multiplayer subscription.
- Check microphones and internet access before beginning the session.
- Set aside enough time to learn each other's descriptions, rather than treating the first session as a race through puzzles.
No previous game is required to start Tomorrow. Its story connects to the wider series, but it is a standalone adventure. A newcomer and a returning player can begin together without first completing the older games.
What the release date does not tell you
October 20 establishes when the full game launched. It does not identify a numbered patch, guarantee that a particular problem is fixed, or turn a historical trailer into a guide to the final version. At launch, known issues were being tracked separately; the date of an issue-list update is not a game version number.
A precise regional unlock hour is not confirmed here. Since the game is already released, an old countdown is less useful than checking the correct product and supported device. If you cannot start an installed copy, treat that as an access, launch, or connection problem instead of assuming that everyone is still waiting for the release date.
